Our Mission
Her Space Michigan is a virtual & in-person meeting space for women to engage in therapy and wellness services in both individual and group settings. We are dedicated to providing compassionate, comprehensive, and culturally sensitive mental health care for those navigating different stages of life. From young adulthood and beyond, we support women as they adjust to life changes, manage stress, and prioritize their overall wellness. Our goal is to empower women to lead fulfilling lives, grounded in mental and emotional balance, resilience, and self-compassion.
Our Core Services

We offer one-on-one therapy sessions with licensed mental health professionals who specialize in women's issues. Therapy is available for a wide range of concerns, including stress management, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, self-esteem, and trauma. Our therapists are trained in evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution-focused Therapy.

Group therapy and support circles allow women to connect with others who are facing similar challenges. These groups are safe, supportive spaces where women can share their experiences, learn from one another, and gain insight from group discussions. Topics may include managing work-life balance, post-partum wellness, navigating career transitions, and coping with grief and loss.

We offer wellness retreats and workshops for women seeking to create a fulfilling life aligned with their personal values. These may include workshops on self-compassion, mindfulness, stress management, and healthy relationships. Our services can help women set and achieve goals, whether it's finding career fulfillment, improving relationships, or developing personal wellness routines. Through this, our hope is to provide women the opporotunity to create a fulfilling life aligned with their personal values.

For women in the childbearing years, we provide specialized maternal mental health services to support women during pregnancy and the postpartum period. This includes therapy and counseling for managing symptoms relating to perinatal mental health challenges, anxiety, and body image concerns. Our experts are trained to work with women navigating the emotional complexities of motherhood, offering both individual therapy and couples counseling.

We offer services tailored to women navigating the physical and emotional changes of perimenopause and menopause. Our licensed therapists provide therapy focused on managing symptoms such as mood swings, irritability, anxiety, and stress, as well as strategies for enhancing self-acceptance during midlife transitions.

Women living with chronic illness, autoimmune diseases, or long-term health conditions often face unique mental health challenges. Our organization provides specialized counseling for women who are managing the psychological impacts of illness, helping them build resilience, improve coping strategies, and find a sense of balance in their daily lives.
Her Space Services stands as a beacon of support, growth, and healing for women, helping them to thrive at every stage of life. Our team is LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity affirming. We offer a safe space regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, or ability. Although we market our practice to women, we do see individuals who identify as male or gender non-binary as well.

I am committed to providing a safe, hopeful, and supportive space for you to feel comfortable and free from judgement throughout the therapeutic process. Seeking help takes a lot of courage and I applaud any person who takes the first step. I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, relational conflict and overcoming difficult life transitions. Collectively, we will discuss and process your thoughts and feelings as they relate to both past and present wounds.
My counseling approach is strength-based, flexible and client-centered. I use a relational and integrative approach with cognitive behavioral, solution-focused and additional evidence-based modalities. I also incorporate mindfulness-based techniques into my practice to assist clients with focusing on the present, without interpretation or judgement.
Collaboratively, we will work on identifying your goals and remain focused on the process of change towards feeling your best, authentic self. I will provide insight and encouragement during the process to assist with overcoming barriers to renewed happiness. My hope is for you to feel empowered within your own therapeutic journey.

Hi! I’m Shelby.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. I then went on to earn my Master of Social Work from the University of Michigan, where I continued to develop my passion for understanding the particular struggles that women and the queer community face.
As a therapist, I seek to create a welcoming and non-judgemental space where clients feel safe to explore and express themselves. I am passionate about helping clients advocate for themselves, and work to create a therapeutic space that is person-centered and always prioritizes client goals, needs, and preferences. Creativity and self-expression guide my therapeutic approach. Utilizing a holistic and eclectic treatment approach, I work with clients to adapt traditional modalities and techniques to better fit their needs. I often draw from approaches including ACT (Acceptance and Commitment therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral therapy), mindfulness practice, somatic therapy, walk and talk therapy, and art therapy.
I am passionate about providing therapy to adolescents, young adults, and couples. I hope to help individuals who are seeking services for generalized anxiety, social anxiety, OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder), relationship issues, life transitions, and sexual identity exploration. Using an attachment-oriented framework, I also work with couples who are looking to navigate relationship challenges, build trust, and improve communication. I am also passionate about guiding couples in exploring or navigating polyamory, kink, queer/trans identity, and intimacy issues. As a queer woman, I carry my experiences into sessions to provide a space that is always queer/trans-affirming, non-judgemental, and trauma-informed. I look forward to working with you!

With years of experience working with college students, I offer support through the common challenges that arise during this season of life, such as loneliness, depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, and stress management. Whether you're adjusting to academic pressures, managing the stress of independence, or dealing with personal struggles, I'm here to help you thrive.
We’ll work hard in therapy to address the challenges you’re facing, but I also strive to make the process as enjoyable as possible. I have a laid-back, approachable personality and enjoy incorporating humor into our sessions because I believe that healing doesn’t have to be all serious. Together, we’ll work on building resilience, finding balance, and embracing joy, even through life’s toughest moments.I look forward to working with you!

My hope is to provide you with an inviting and empowering space to feel authentically seen and supported. I am an admirer of mindfulness and advocate for mental well being. I believe we all have the capability to be happy, healthy and content with ourselves. Providing a safe space to express thoughts, feelings and emotions without judgement helps to create awareness of who we are, what we are struggling with and how to understand it.
